Main Slate Advice (Top Stack) - Saturday 7/22/17

On a slate filled with tons of weather issues, we are targeting the Kansas City Royals as our F.O. top stack. The Royals are not only in a great spot to continue their 3 game win streak, but they are in a fabulous spot to become the leader of the AL Central Division, ahead of the Indians. Facing off against Mike Pelfrey of Chicago White Sox, the Royals are in a great spot to throw a DFS “punch” at the worst team in their division.

This year, Mike Pelfrey has posted a 6.19 ERA to LHB (left-handed batters), a 2.22 HR/9, and a 7.01 FIP. He also has given up a 36% Hard Hit percentage and a 12% HR/FB ratio. If this doesn’t call for a stack of the Left Handed Bats on the Royals, then I do not know what does. Pelfrey is even worse on the road, giving up a .316 BA and a 8.10 ERA to lefties.

The specific lefties that we will be calling for will come as no surprise. Eric Hosmer (Fanduel: $3600, Draftkings: $3900). Batting cleanup at home vs Righties, Eric Hosmer scores a .345 BA and a 174 wRC+, along with a 34% hard hit. In his career against Pelfrey, Hosmer has 7 hits off of 14 at bats. Next, we have Mike Moustakas (Fanduel: $3,400, Draftkings: $3,700). Forget about the stats (they are there), Mike Moustakas has a .412 BA and 2 Home Runs against Pelfrey. Next on our stack list comes Alex Gordon (Fanduel: $2,300, Draftkings: $2,800). He has a .350 AVG with 1 dong against Pelfrey. Lorenzo Cain, although a RHB, has a .514 AVG against Pelfrey and 3 SB. He is not at the top of our stack but remains in play.
